Adventure & Photography for the Soul

About

Information about Zach Reed including his background history and more.

Hi, I'm Zach!

Striking a pose!

I'm an adventure and landscape photographer currently based in the Greater Denver Area. I have previously also lived in California, Georgia, South Carolina, and Maryland as well, so you could say I like new places!

I've always loved exploring the outdoors and chasing adventure. My first love of the outdoors began by my home on the Chesapeake Bay, but as my adventures broadened I also came to appreciate the beauty of mountains, forests, and deserts. At some point I picked up a camera and have yet to put one down!

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to collaborate, and also be sure to connect with me on social media. I thoroughly enjoy seeing what everyone else is up to and find it to be incredibly inspiring.

FAQs

Are you a professional / full-time photographer?

No, I have a full-time job in tech that keeps me busy 5+ days per week. I take full advantage of the weekends to spend as much time as possible enjoying the outdoors, and break up my vacation time throughout the year to take extended trips.

What gear do you use?

I truly believe that there are no bad cameras made today, however, there is a right tool for the right job. Because I literally haul my gear up and down mountains, keeping weight and space to a bare minimum is vital while also trusting that it'll function in the worst of weather conditions.

How did you get started in photography?

An iPhone - no, seriously! The more time I spent outdoors, the more I wanted to capture those beautiful fleeting moments. This started with an iPhone, then a point and shoot camera, and eventually an interchangeable lens camera. Eventually the camera itself became another tool for exploration and one more great reason to get out and find an adventure ;)
