My Gear

The internet is full of articles debating the superiority of assorted camera systems - I don't pretend to be an expert in real life so I won't be doing that here. I simply use the gear that I enjoy using, fits my needs, and falls in my budget! Clearly there are a large number of systems that would meet this criteria so I don't sweat your selection.

Because the vast majority of my work is landscape focused I made the decision to use mirrorless systems over the traditional DSLR to save on bulk and weight. Yes, DSLRs have their own respective advantages...but when you're putting up to 20 miles on the trail in a day, you want to carry as little around as possible. On the topic of primes vs. zooms, I tend to prefer zooms for their flexility. My use of primes lenses is usually associated with niche settings such as astrophotography.
